On the afternoon of March 19, Member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Prime Minister Comrade Ho Quoc Dung led a working delegation to inspect Component Project 3 of the Khanh Hoa Buon Ma Thuot Expressway (Phase 1) and the road project connecting the expressway with the East West Road (Vo Nguyen Giap Road).
Representatives of central ministries and agencies joined the delegation. From Dak Lak province, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Comrade Truong Cong Thai attended, together with leaders of provincial departments, localities and related units.

Leaders of "Ban A" reported to Deputy Prime Minister Comrade Ho Quoc Dung and the working delegation on the implementation status of Component Project 3.
At the site inspection, the Provincial Project Management Board for Investment and Construction of Transport and Agricultural Rural Development Works (Ban A – the investor) provided a preliminary report on project progress. Component Project 3 has a total length of more than 48 km and a total investment of over VND 6,165 billion. The project is being implemented in stages, with a roadbed width of 17 m in the phased stage and 24.75 m at full completion. The project was technically opened to traffic on December 19, 2025. As of mid March 2026, the executed value for the three construction packages has reached over 94% of the volume, and works are now in the final push to complete remaining items.
The project still faces land clearance difficulties across the communes of Vu Bon, Tan Tien and Krong Pac. The investor, together with local competent agencies, is actively implementing measures to remove obstacles and ensure the overall schedule.

Representatives of the Railway Project Management Board reported to Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dũng and the delegation on the implementation status of Component Project 2.
At the inspection, the Project Management Board for Railway Projects under the Ministry of Construction, as investor of Component Project 2, reported that the component is nearly 37 km long, commencing at Tay Ninh Hoa Commune (Khanh Hoa Province) and ending at Ea O Commune (Dak Lak Province). This section is the most difficult segment of the expressway, featuring four road tunnels, one interchange and 38 bridge works. Due to complex geological conditions and the high technical requirements of the tunnel works, progress to date is approximately 64%.
To maximize the expressway's effectiveness, at the inspection Vice Chairman Comrade Truong Cong Thai proposed that the Government consider investing in the construction of a connecting road from the expressway terminus to the East West Road. The proposed road would be about 5 km long, beginning at interchange CT.02 (Ea Knuec Commune) and ending at the junction of National Highway 27 Vo Nguyen Giap Dam San (Tan Lap Ward). Once completed, this route would create an uninterrupted traffic axis from the expressway to Buon Ma Thuot Airport.

Comrade Truong Cong Thai, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee reported on the progress of project implementation and proposed a number of recommendations on investment in the construction of the road project for the section connecting the expressway terminus with the East West Road.
After the site inspection, Deputy Prime Minister Comrade Ho Quoc Dung commended the investor and construction units for their efforts in ensuring progress on Component Projects 2 and 3. To bring the works into operation as soon as possible, the Deputy Prime Minister required that, on land clearance, the Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee must direct localities along the route to resolve outstanding issues decisively, and absolutely must not allow a few minor bottlenecks to affect the overall project schedule.
Regarding construction, contractors were instructed to take advantage of favorable weather, mobilize maximum manpower and machinery to complete remaining volumes, and pay particular attention to finishing service roads, protective barriers and traffic safety measures in coordination with the main carriageway. Alongside schedule adherence, contractors must prioritize construction quality to ensure durability and aesthetic standards; continue to study and implement rest areas; apply intelligent transport systems to operate the expressway effectively; contribute to local socio‑economic development and national growth; and study proposals for implementing the Buôn Ma Thuột – Tuy Hòa expressway to connect the western and eastern parts of Đắk Lắk Province to meet socio‑economic development needs and exploit the province’s new spatial potential.
Regarding the proposal for the connecting road between the expressway and the East–West Road, the Government will assign the Ministry of Finance to consider including the project in the medium‑term public investment capital plan for timely, coordinated implementation.
