Chairman of the People's Committee of Dak Lak province Ta Anh Tuan pays a courtesy call on the Consul General of the Lao People's Democratic Republic

On the morning of March 17, Comrade Ta Anh Tuan, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee, paid a courtesy call on Comrade Vonekham Cheuangmanivong, Consul General of the Lao People's Democratic Republic in Da Nang City, who has arrived to assume her new post in Vietnam.

At the meeting, Comrade Ta Anh Tuan expressed his pleasure in receiving Consul General Vonekham Cheuangmanivong for a visit and working session in Dak Lak province.  

On behalf of the provincial leadership, Comrade Ta Anh Tuan extended his congratulations to the Consul General on his new assignment in Vietnam and expressed confidence that, in her new role, Comrade Vonekham Cheuangmanivong will actively contribute to promoting the traditional friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos, further deepening and enhancing effectiveness, and to advancing cooperation between localities in Vietnam and those in Laos.   

Reporting on local socio economic development, Comrade Ta Anh Tuan said Dak Lak province has significant potential in agriculture, tourism and the marine economy, with a particular advantage in coffee production a key commodity of Vietnam. The province has many opportunities to expand its development space in the near future.

In terms of international cooperation, Dak Lak province places importance on and actively promotes friendly and cooperative relations with Lao localities, especially provinces in southern Laos. To date, the province has signed cooperation agreements with four provinces Champasak, Attapeu, Salavan and Sekong and is studying the restoration of delegation exchanges and cooperation with Savannakhet province in the near future. Areas of cooperation focus on delegation exchanges, education and training, agriculture, trade and investment, and cultural exchange.  

Comrade Vonekham Cheuangmanivong, Consul General of the Lao People's Democratic Republic in Da Nang, presented a commemorative gift to Comrade Ta Anh Tuan, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee

Comrade Ta Anh Tuan also expressed gratitude for the support and assistance of Lao localities, particularly Attapeu and Sekong provinces, in helping the people of Dak Lak overcome the consequences of recent natural disasters.

This support is a vivid demonstration of the solidarity and close ties between the peoples of the two countries.

Speaking at the meeting, Consul General Vonekham Cheuangmanivong thanked the provincial leadership for the warm reception and lauded the results of cooperation between Dak Lak province and Lao localities to date.

The Consul General affirmed that, in her new position, the Lao Consulate General in Da Nang will continue to act as a bridge, further promoting cooperative activities between Lao localities and Dak Lak province in areas such as economy, trade, education and training, and cultural exchange. Through these efforts, the Consulate General aims to contribute to consolidating and deepening the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos, ensuring it remains evergreen and enduring.
